Skills & Abilities

  • Ability to operate manual and automatic 26 ft. delivery trucks
  • Ability to interact with Gargiulo Produce customers and be a frontline representative of the company

Licenses and/or Certifications

  • State of New York or New Jersey Class A or B License
  • Able to obtain a Department of Transportation Examiner’s Card

Requirements

  • Physically able to continuously stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, lift, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, handle and move/push/pull/lift items weighing from 60 lbs. to 200 lbs.
  • 6-day work week, available on weekends and able to work overtime
  • Able to pass pre-employment and random drug tests
  • Able to follow oral and written direction
  • Qualified applicant must have reliable transportation
  • The employee must be able to work independently and demonstrate a commitment to company standards to product quality and keep work area/vehicle clean, and organized

Responsibilities

  • Performs deliveries, pick-ups, and returns of produce, dairy products, and dry goods to/from Gargiulo Produce customers and suppliers
  • Reviews paperwork for the assigned route(s) to ensure that all invoices are present and in good condition
  • Inspects cargo loads to ensure that they are packed appropriately
  • Prepares customer orders by verifying them with delivery invoices for accuracy, delivering them to the customer facility, and assisting with check-in and placement of products at the client facility. Receives signatures on invoices for items delivered and collects any payment on delivery when necessary
  • Makes dispatch and supervisors aware of any delivery delays, shorts, errors, or quality issues that may require a reship to the customer immediately
  • Completes, organizes, and turns in all appropriate paperwork and invoices, making sure that all payments are balanced and included in the drop
  • Ensures that all vehicles are cleaned out properly at the end of each shift
  • Takes multiple routes per day depending on volume and client demands
  • Performs daily routine safety checks, and pre-trip inspections on assigned vehicle
  • Ensures all safety measures appropriate for the operation of the assigned vehicle are consistently and efficiently applied
  • Operates vehicle in all assigned service areas in a timely and efficient manner
  • Loads all assigned materials according to normal operating procedures and reports any violations to the supervisor
  • Ensures materials being transported comply with the legal load limits
  • Reports all accidents and/or safety violations to the appropriate authority and in a timely manner
  • Maintains good customer relations and positively influences the community’s perception of the Company throughout all applicable service areas
  • 1-2 years experience required

Seeking a creative and energetic individual to provide courteous and pleasant service to new, prospective and existing customers. This person will support the sales team by expanding the company’s digital presence and performing social media and marketing functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide prompt, polite, and knowledgeable responses to incoming calls and inquiries regarding product, pricing, and availability.
  • Support the Sales Department by entering orders into the company database with absolute precision
  • Provide client management with daily reports and checklists
  • Review reports ensuring that all orders are accounted for
  • Create, maintain and manage pertinent content for social media channels, postings, emails, print, merchandise, day-to-day engagements, food shows, farmers markets, and other emerging opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of Customer Service experience in a business to business setting
  • The ability to properly prioritize workflow and thrive in a busy and dynamic work environment is a must.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills (Bilingual a plus)
  • Reliable, able to multitask, and organized
  • Self-motivated and disciplined personality with a track record of excellence in follow-through
  • Experience and fluidity with social media platforms, CRM email systems, and graphic design tools including but not limited to: Facebook, Instagram, WordPress, Mail Chimp and Canva
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge in the Produce industry a plus plus
